Scientific Program

Keynote lectures

Invited scientists from diverse fields of Biology will deliver short presentations on their research. Each mini-lecture will last approximately 30 minutes and will be followed by a discussion period, during which participants will have the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers.

Oral presentations

SymBioSE is, among other things, a platform for Biology students to give talks about their research or any scientific topic that interests them in front of their peers.

Useful information

  • If you have an oral presentation, please make sure to have slide numbers clearly visible. This will help other participants to ask you a question.

  • Each oral presentation will take 10-12 minutes and 3-5 minutes for questions after every talk.

  • Oral presentations may be organized in two parallel sessions, depending on the final program structure and the number of participants and submissions.

Poster presentations

Another way to present your topic is a scientific poster. You will present your poster during poster sessions and give your listeners a insight into your research. Posters should serve as points for further discussions among participants.

We do not have very strict requirements for the posters. However, the posters must have a scientifically correct format, with an abstract, results, etc.

Workshops

Alongside the presentations, we will have a number of interactive workshops, organized in parallel sessions. Each workshop will last approximately 1 hour. These sessions will give you an additional chance to learn something new, while working together in small groups and getting to know each other a bit better.
